On the 1st of February 2020, Zona Franca metro station was inaugurated. It is the 8th station of Barcelona Metro Line 10 South to be inaugurated and the first elevated metro station in the Barcelona Metro Network. It is the first of a total of 4 elevated stations that will be inaugurated in following years on the 3Km long viaducts located in Zona Franca industrial state.

Zona Franca station will serve thousands of workers, many of them public servants, that work in companies and public institutions located in the area. According to TBM (“Transports Metropolitans de Barcelona”, the main public transport operator in Barcelona), Zona Franca industrial state occupies 4.700.000 m2 and houses 164 companies that employ 20.880 workers and generate 2.968.124.000€ per year.

Tec Cuatro has participated in the preliminary design and the construction design of Barcelona Metro Line 10 South, therefore including the design of Zona Franca station. Tec Cuatro is also responsible for the works supervision of the elevated section of Line 10 South, the works supervision of the workshop building and the works supervision of all stations in Metro Line 10 South (when their construction was concessioned).
