INAUGURATION OF CIUTAT DE LA JUSTICIA METRO STATION IN L’HOSPITALET DE LLOBREGAT, BARCELONA

On the 23rd of November 2019, the President of the Regional Government of Catalonia, Quim Torra and the Mayor of l’Hospitalet de Llobregat, Núria Marín, among other authorities, inaugurated Ciutat de la Justicia station, on Metro Line 10 South.

The station is the 158th station of the Barcelona metropolitan metro network and the 19th station in the city of l’Hospitalet de Llobregat. It is expected to serve 12.000 travelers each day

The station is composed of an underground lobby that connects street level to a deep shaft that allows access to platforms, which are located inside the tunnel. The shaft, which is 52.8m deep and has a diameter of 27.2m, was excavated in soft soil with the water table very near street level (at bottom level, water height is around 43m). The excavation was performed after the construction of the station cover so as to minimize the effects of the works at street level. The structure inside the tunnel was built after the shaft had been excavated.

Due to the depth of the station, access to platform level is achieved with a set of elevators.

Tec Cuatro has participated in the preliminary design, the construction design and the works supervision of the station.
